PUPPY GROWTH & WEIGHT CHART
|
People are always asking ‘What will my Puppy weigh as an adult?’ First, let us say, a tiny Teacup puppy can cost thousands of dollars in Vet bills if not cared for properly and can end in heartache and resentment. Please use rationale when selecting your puppy. This chart is a guide only and is not to be used as a guarantee to your Puppy’s weight as an adult. Some 2.5 oz puppies at birth may weigh 3 pounds as an adult and some puppies that weigh 5.5 oz may weigh 4.5 or may weigh 6 pounds as an adult. There are no Real guarantees.
A small, unhappy, and no energy is not a wise choice. A tiny 2 pound adult dog is at a much higher risk for Renal failure, Hypoglycemia, hip problems, and a whole set of other health concerns. While we have some 3 pounds adult puppies most are between 4-5 pounds full grown. Small and healthy is the best combination.
|
NOTE: Weights before the age of eight weeks may vary, and are not a
guarantee. This weight chart was taken from a book written by Hilary
Harmer. It has been accurate for us within a 1/4 of a pound.
